Where to start: At Alpine Park in Wandiligong.

On the day Registration: opens 6.15am

Mandatory Gear: Conditions in Alpine Country can change quickly. The weather at the bottom of the mountain may also be different than at the top.

Updated list of mandatory gear found here

Start Time: The Bright Alpine Climb is a staggered start. This is due to both the nature of the trails being run and also the diversity of speed that participants travel.

We will also be implementing COVID-Safe protocols which will change the way the start works.

Participants can self select start time from 7am- 8am at 5min intervals.

Start Period 1: 7-7.30am – Walkers
Start Period 2: 8am – Runners

Participants are required to check in at the start line and will have their number recorded as they start.

Chasing Start: New for 2022, we are changing up the start format for the overall men's and women's leaders. The current cummulative leaders after 3 days will start at 7.45am. Any runners with cummulative times less than 15 minutes behind the leaders will be eligible to start in the Chasing Start. They will start with the exact deficit they are behind the leader, and hence the first across the line will win the overall title.
All other runners will start at 8am. Walkers are still able to start between 7-7.30am.

The Course: Starting in Wandiligong, participants leave the Alpine Park via Grenville’s Rd, turning right and beginning a winding climb into the pine plantations and toward the approach of the summit of Mystic Hill from the East. upon reaching the summit and traversing the launch pad – participants head south along Water Reserve Track which climbs another 120m over the next 2km. Participants then turn left in a very steep descent back down to the pine plantation where the course levels out and they wind their way back to the finish.

Expected Performance for Walkers: Walkers need to aim to be finished by Midday. This gives slow walkers 5 hours. A minimum pace of approx 25 – 30mins/km.

Aid along the way: There is one aid station only for the Mystic Hill event located at Mystic Hill launch pad. No cups and athletes must self serve.

Finish In the same place you started for the Mystic Hill event (no shuttle bus required).
At the Finish: At the finish there is Fruit, Water and Electrolyte.

Presentations: will take place at 11am at Alpine Park with prizes for 4 days winners.
